Schools, community groups, businesses and individuals across the Caerphilly county borough are being reminded that entries are now open for the exciting Pride in Your Place competition.
The Pride In Your Place awards 2012 is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council to acknowledge the endeavour, innovation and commitment of those who help make our area cleaner, safer and greener and an even better place to live, work and visit.
The inaugural awards ceremony took place last year at Penallta House council offices in Ystrad Mynach, which saw Ysgol y Lawnt in Rhymney collecting the top prize on the night.
There are 11 categories overall and each category winner will receive a cash prize of £500 and be eligible for the prestigious overall winner award. All residents, schools, businesses & community groups within the area are encouraged to enter the competition, before the deadline of Friday October 5th 2012.
An independent panel will assess all applications and those candidates short-listed will be invited to an award evening on the 23rd November 2012.
SEDA, a major international packaging company with a base near Blackwood has agreed to be a key sponsor for this year's 'Pride in your Place' awards.
