>Pupils at Lewis School Pengam have recently launched an in-school radio station.
The station will broadcast during break and lunch times, with the Head Teacher using the station for his pastoral message each morning.
The radio station was launched by Corporate Director for Education at Caerphilly County Borough Council, Sandra Aspinall with singer song writer and Welsh Music Award winner, Amy Wadge.
Speaking at the launch, Amy said "It's a complete pleasure to be asked, there are some amazing musicians and songwriter performers in this school. It's lovely to think that they can perform on their own radio station."
The radio station is also used as part of the successful Intergenerational Club and Ms Aspinall, who was joined by another special guest former Wales and Cardiff Blues star Rhys Williams, was interviewed on air by pupils and over 50's club members.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the station; it is great to see the pupils working so well and productively alongside older community members. Thank you to all those involved, they are a real credit to themselves and the school."
The radio station is manned by pupils, volunteers from the Intergenerational Club and has involvement from local community police. The aim of the station is to continue the positive team working aspect of the Intergenerational Club and engage all the pupils attending the school.
