>This Saturday (26th May) is shaping up to be a fantastic day for all the family – with a visit from the Olympic torch, exciting sporting activities, not to mention Blue Peter… and who could forget the Caerphilly Food Festival offering food and fun aplenty – Caerphilly really is the place to be this Saturday!
Part funded by the Welsh Government, the Food Festival, which will run from 10am until 5pm, is set to be a real feast for all the family, with tasty treats and flavoursome foods galore on offer to tickle the taste buds.
Food stalls, cookery demonstrations and talks will be the order of the day, including demonstrations on how to make the perfect gluten free pancakes and ice cream sundaes.
So why not come along and try and buy, watch and learn, participate and enjoy – and also keep an eye out for the mad chefs, walking and talking eggs and other bizarre food related street theatre!
There is also plenty to keep the children entertained, including craft workshops, drumming workshops, animal displays and activities, face painting, brass bands and much more.
There will be a number of road closures in place on the day, therefore the council is providing a FREE park and ride service from St Ilan School on Pontygwindy Road into the heart of the town centre throughout the day.
A full list of the stallholders, and a timetable of the cookery demonstrations can be found at www.caerphilly.gov.uk/foodfestival
