>Could there be a nicer way to wind up the week with a relaxing or invigorating dip at a local pool? Yes! A free one!
All six swimming pools across Caerphilly county borough offer 'Free Swim Friday' sessions. So not only can residents chill out and get fit but they can do it without splashing the cash.
All the family can swim for free, from the baby of the family to great grandparents. And for the teenagers in the family some of the sessions have music, floats, slides and games to make a fun packed Aqua Disco!
Jeremy Rowe, Leisure Services Manager at Caerphilly County Borough Council said, "Swimming is an excellent way to get fit, and unwind. It's great for all the family, no matter what your fitness levels are and it's a fantastic way to spend some quality 'family' time."
Free Swim Friday has already proven a huge success, with 11,600 swimmers participating since June 2011! Sessions are available at different times across county borough pools to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate.
Free Swim Friday is part of the Welsh Government Free Swim Initiative.
