High Street Pedestrian Linkage

A new pedestrian linkage will be created to the High Street from the Transport Hub. This linkage will comprise a series of steps from the new bus station through to the High Street.

This new linkage onto the High Street is to encourage the use of public transport by providing accessible, safe, pedestrian friendly routes to and from the new Transport Hub.

The new pedestrian route has been designed to broaden out as it enters the High Street, creating a naturally paved final “landing” prior to breaking through to the retail area. There is potential to install an art feature in this newly created public space.

The majority of the walling and pathway will be constructed from locally sourced Pennant sand stone which will blend in with town wall features around Hanbury Road Car Park and the new retail plateau.

The whole area will be sensitively planted with a range of shrubs and small trees, which will enhance the valley location and filter views of the car park.
