Mayor's Charity

Each May a Mayor is elected to serve the Council. It is the Mayors role to chair council meetings and along with the Clerk and Leader ensure smooth running of the council office and business, also to raise funds for their chosen charities.

On May 4th 2011 Councillor Vivienne Stephens took over as Mayor of Bargoed Town Council. Mayor Stephens chosen charities are Home-Start, Cwm Rhymney and Gigibites, Bargoed.

The Mayor welcomes invitations to attend events held by local organisations and recently joined in celebrations with the Bargoed & District Arts Society who celebrated their 50th year. As well as visiting individuals celebrating their Golden or Diamond Wedding Anniversaries and 100th Birthdays. Please contact Laura Tams for further information.

Since 2004 the Mayors of Bargoed Town Council have raised a staggering £13,600 for charities, many of which are local. It is through the hard work and determination of the Mayor and members that this has been made possible and an enormous thank you to every member of public and business who has helped in raising funds for these wonderful causes.

THANK YOU one and all…
