2011 REVIEW
It is estimated that around 80,000 people came to Caerphilly over the festival weekend to grab a slice of the Big Cheese action, which is now established as one of the biggest 'must see' summer events taking place in Wales.
In its fourteenth year the event was blessed with a good weekend of weather. Families came out in their thousands, proving to be one of our best years for attendance figures yet.
The Great Cheese race was a huge success with a high number of entrants competing to be crowned Big Cheese Race winners for 2011. The Friday was also host to a spectacular fireworks display and some feet tapping sounds from the music stages as well as the opening of the funfair.
This year was a truly memorable event with much fun and laughter for visitors and organisers alike. We even had a visit from PM David Cameron during the lead up to the event, even though it was not event specific he did pass over the event field which was very exciting! Other famous faces to join us were Sean Wilson, aka Coronation Street's Martin Platt, Scott Quinell and Britain's Got Talent's Nathan Wyburn.
Comments for 2011
“Thank you for another record show--everything went smoothly and the staff were great--and most importantly--I sold out!”
Bev Robins, Otley Brewery
I would like to thank you for organising another brilliant event over the weekend, everybody worked hard and it paid off. It was a lovely couple of days and everybody I spoke to was very happy with all the attractions and range of stalls, being a family day out and a 'dry' site made it even better. I just think, credit where it's due - you should hear this. I made a lot of connections for my business and return customers.
Andrea Davies, Moksha Jewels
“Just a quick note to say thank you for such a well organised event. We really enjoyed ourselves which was partly to do with the amount of people that attended but also due to how efficient the organisers were while offering a wide range of stands.”
The Ludlow Nut Company, Ludlow
Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for a wonderful weekend at The Big Cheese! Dotty cupcakes went down a storm and would love the opportunity to take part next year. Thank you all again for a great weekend.
Liz Salter and Allison Morgan, Dotty cupcakes
Previous years comments
“My wife and I had a fantastic time at the Big Cheese at the weekend, it was the first time we attended the event and thoroughly enjoyed it. We have already pencilled it in for next year. On the Sunday my daughter, son in law and the grandchildren joined us for the day and they agreed that it will become an annual event from now on.”

We all felt the Big Cheese 2010 was run extremely well - the layout of the ground, the stewarding, the atmosphere, etc. Many thanks to you and all your team and everyone involved.
