COMEDY MARQUEE
The Big Cheese 2008 - TimetableA tribute to one of Caerphilly’s most famous son’s, Tommy Cooper. The comedy marquee will keep children, and adults alike, entertained for hours with a mix of comedy, music, magic and general clowning around.
Tommy is always remembered for his trademark Fez and catchphrase, ‘Just Like That’. A comic, magician and all round entertainer, Tommy's magic tricks invariably went wrong much to his and the audiences delight.
Jones and Barnard
Sat 26th - 6:00pm
A satirical exploration examining the eccentricities of the collective British character through the universal language of eccentric dance, classic song and variety skill routines, entwined with an original funky soundtrack with intimate comedy. This duo have a totally fresh approach to the presentation of comedy classics, combined with a sensitive use of volunteers to comedic effect making the audience part of, not apart from, the show.

Phil Hoyles presents his personal tribute to Caerphilly’s most favourite son, Tommy Cooper, with a show that features plenty of Tommy style gags and classic magic tricks. The memory of one of the UK’s finest ever comedians is kept alive for Phil has the height, look, timing and voice of the great man. Once he places that red fez on his head and puts on the suit, he becomes Tommy. It really is a sight to see.

Bruce Airhead
Sun 27th - 6:00pm
Thirty minutes of totally original, high energy, family street entertainment that has been performed on three continents, laughed at by the crown heads of Europe, mud splatted in the fields of Glastonbury, and enjoyed by everyone. It's spectacular and surreal. The metamorphosis of a man and six foot balloon.
