Countryside marquee

You're invited to the ambassadors party being held in the countryside marquee. Find out why you should be proud of your local countryside and have a go at our countryside crafts. Meet the Rangers who help manage it. They will be leading fun games and activities throughout the day helping you to get the most out of a visit to the countryside. Prizes to be won and freebies to be collected. You can relax in the countryside picnic site next door, away from the hustle and bustle of the main site. Three quarters of the county borough is countryside - discover Caerphilly and be an ambassador for you natural environment.

Animals will be on display for visitors to look at, have photographs with and to learn about. This years exhibitors include Tropical Inc who have an array of reptiles, parrots and unusual species, Festival Park Owl Sanctuary with a display of birds and owls, Gwent Beekeepers Association with live bees and The International Tortoise Association with their display of tortoises.

Woodland Turnery will be gathering in a host of hard working crafts men and women to display their goods whilst demonstrating how they wood turn, spin and carve to name but a few of their skills.

Education & Leisure marquee

The entertainment on offer at the Education & Leisure Marquee will be even bigger and better this year. So why not stick your head in, browse the showcased information from your Education & Leisure services and be entertained for free.

Showcased stands will include Library Services, Caerphilly Leisure Centres, Flying Start programme, Blackwood Miners’ Institute and many more.

Amongst the entertainment on offer will be local dance groups, singers, musicians and family entertainers. The line up will include singer Lisa Ann Davies who will show why she was chosen as the winner of last year’s Caerphilly’s Got Talent competition. Pick up your 2010 entry forms from the Caerphilly’s Got Talent stand in the marquee if you think you could be the 2010 winner!

A demonstration from this class which meets at Caerphilly Leisure Centre on Tue and Thu evenings.
12.15pm Creazione Dance Company
Four Teams from Caerphilly Borough demonstrate their streetdance skills - including the U.K.A. Streetdance Champions.
1.00pm Rhian’s Dancers

2.00pm Lisa-Ann Davies
Performance by this breathtaking solo vocalist, who won Caerphilly’s Got Talent 2009.
2.30pm Owen Money
This legendary welsh comedian comes direct from his Radio Wales show Money For Nothing to entertain the crowds.
3.30pm Taoist Tai Chi Society
‘Internal arts and methods cultivating mind and body’ - This group regularly meets at St. Catherine’s Hall, Caerphilly.
Sunday  
11am, 1pm, 3pm Danny’s Amazing Balloon Comedy Show
Danny the Wild Balloon Tamer with his top-quality physical comedy and eccentric family-friendly entertainment will use an absurd mix of crazy magic and wacky dancing with his ingenious live balloon taming.
11.45am Blackwood Miners’ Institute Community Dance
A demonstration from the 10+ group and the adult group that meet at Blackwood Miners’ Institute on a Wednesday evening.
1.45pm Windsor School of Dance
A demonstration of fantastic Latin Pairs routines - cha cha cha, rumba, Samba, Jive. Children come join in the fun, glitz and glamour.
3.30pm Janet Stephens School of Dance
Pupils of the Janet Stephens School of Dance will be performing a selection of dances from their recent showcase " It's number 1 it's top of the Pops".

The Caerphilly County Borough Council Road Safety Team are looking forward to promoting an endless lists of initiatives that are being carried out within our schools to include Kerb craft, School Travel Plans, Walking Bus and Mrs Tufty.

There will be an opportunity to speak with the team regarding Child Seatbelt Safety and Road Safety issues. We also have a Faulty Bike Quiz, Children's Traffic Club, Children's Painting Corner, Adults and Children's Cycle Helmets for sale at £5 approx, Face Painting, Badge Making, Leaflets, Gifts, Prizes and the chance to enter a free competition to win a mountain bike worth £200. We are situated by the music tent, everybody welcome.

Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership marquee

Visitors to the Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership marquee this year will have the opportunity to discover first hand how crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour is being tackled in our communities.

Find out how you can get involved to help make our area an even safer place to live, or why not simply come along and pick up some useful safety tips?

Community safety related arts and crafts will also be available for young people to take part in.

Caerphilly cbc Trading Standards is hosting an interactive exhibition promoting pet welfare. The stand will feature a prize-winning quiz, children’s activities and a variety of information on pet care.

Caerphilly Tourism Association members will be promoting the area's wonderful walks, heritage and outdoor activities. Pop along to pick up brochures and chat to local tourism businesses.
