Poetry Event

Come and join us for a spectacular celebration of words and pictures.
This special poetry event will take place on Thursday 9th October 2008 in the Lower Bar at Blackwood Miners’ Institute from 7pm-9pm.
This cabaret style celebration will include performances of the poetry created in community workshops, performances by local poets, plenty of fun and hijinx!
All this will take place amidst a beautiful set created by local artists and schools in celebration of this year’s ‘Big Draw’.
During the afternoon of the 9th October, from 2pm- 5pm, the bar area will be open to the public. Come along to colour, scribble, draw, sculpt and get stuck in to creating the installation, then see the performance take place within it.
Schools are working on pictures for the installation and prizes for their ‘Big Draw’ competition will also be given out during this special evening celebration.

This is an event not to be missed!
