Pen-y-fan Pond

Improvement Works

Work have started on 5th March to upgrade the path around the pond to improve it's surface. The work is expected to last 16 weeks.

During the works several sections of the path and park will be closed to visitors and it will not be possible to do a circuit of the pond. It will be still be possible to walk the public rights of way.

Towards the end of the improvement works it is possible that the Country Park will be closed completely to vehicles, as work will be carried out in the top car park to prevent unauthorised use of motor vehicles.

Every effort will be made to ensure that as much of the Country Park as possible will be available for visitors.

Pen-y-fan Pond is one of the last remaining canal feeder reservoirs in Wales. This popular summertime family destination offers safe, flat, open spaces to picnic, fly a kite, kick a ball or take an easy ramble. Follow the ‘Alien Invasion Trail’ around the park and discover who’s been visiting...

Experienced walkers can use the park as a base to explore the beautiful and historic countryside around Manmoel. Fishing is permitted on the pond but please make sure you get your day ticket from Pontllanfraith Leisure Centre beforehand.
