Welcome to Countryside and Landscape Services

Over three-quarters of the county borough is countryside; that's meadows, rivers, farmland, woods, commons and ponds and much much more.

The Countryside and Landscape Service helps to look after all this wonderful countryside! Its work includes landscape improvements, creating new habitats, ensuring trees are safe, monitoring and protecting wildlife, improving access for all and working closely with farmers and landowners.

We do all this so you can enjoy it! We manage 5 country parks, lead
school and group visits, organise events and run a programme of guided walks. We work with artists to enhance open spaces and make sure our sites are well signed so you know where to go and if you fancy a healthy walk, why not check out our walk guides.

Roadside Wildlife Watch

The council is asking for your help to record the wide range of wild flowers found at the side of our roads. Tell us what flowers you see on roadside verges over the spring and summer by completing the online Roadside Wildlife Watch form.

Look out for flashes of yellow and blue in spring, and pink and purple in summer.

Show a friend how beautiful Caerphilly is. E-mail the Countryside and Landscape Service to request a free set of four Caerphilly postcards.
