Fantastic feathery fun day at Parc Cwm Darran’s Big Birdwatch

Saturday the 26th January saw Parc Cwm Darran once again hold its successful RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch event. Over 200 people turned up to have some feathery fun, searching the skies for the birds that make Parc Cwm Darran their home and recording sightings for the RSPB survey.

There was an amazing display from birds of prey, and telescopes and binoculars offered the chance to watch feeding birds. Visitors joined guided walks around the park, spotting woodland and wetland birds, and some were even whisked away on a Landrover trip to the temporary hide located high above the Park.

A variety of activities took place within the visitors centre too, including badge making, creating masks, making bird-feeders and bird-box building. The mouth watering food was supplied by Cig Mynydd Cymru Butchers from Tre-Harris.
