Biodiversity Bootcamp!

A thousand visitors came along to Biodiversity Bootcamp on the 8 th June at Bargoed Park to enjoy the sunshine and celebrate local wildlife.

There was something for everyone with a variety of stalls, games, live animals, face painting, mask making, otter holt building and delicious locally produced food. Children enjoyed getting stuck in on the bootcamp activities, pretending to be hungry moles in search of food, racing around a survival obstacle course, making bird-boxes and following a scent trail in the woods to find the Queen Ant!

A variety of organisations were involved in the lively day, including Caerphilly Biodiversity Partnership, Ruperra Conservation Trust, Valleys Bat Group, Windy Ridge Gardening and Wildlife Project, Gwent Beekeepers, Affordable Science and Astronomy, CCBC Recycling and Composting team, Swan Rescue and the Rhymney Riverfly Partnership.
