Child safety
Serious accidents can cause injuries to children that take months or years to heal. Yet many of these accidents can be prevented by taking just a moment, to move a hot drink, check a smoke alarm, lock the medicine cabinet, switch off the dryer or take your foot off the accelerator.
For parents and carers the key messages are:
Caerphilly Council's Trading Standards department is offering FREE child car seat checks - the next one is on Friday 13th August, 9.30am – 4pm, Tesco, Ystrad Mynach,
Caerphilly Pupil’s learn about safety!
Over 2000 pupils attended this year’s Crucial Crew activities – a fun way for children from year 6 to learn life-saving safety messages.
Interactive workshops included real front-line members of the emergency services and associated organisations.
69 primary schools attended the Safety Zone at Treforest and were rewarded with resources for each pupil. In addition to the interactive learning the Crucial Crew workshops are often followed up in schools, where important safety messages are reinforced.
