Hafodyrynys air quality consultation

Residents are invited to contribute their views to a consultation about air quality in Hafodyrynys.

Air quality monitoring in Hafodyrynys began in 2009, and following a detailed assessment of air quality, part of Hafodyrynys Road was designated as an ‘Air Quality Management Area’ in November 2013 after higher than normal levels of nitrogen dioxide (a traffic related pollutant) were present in the area.

The council, with its partners, and taking into account feedback gained so far from local residents, has developed a draft Air Quality Action Plan which contains some key ideas and outline proposals aimed at reducing levels of nitrogen dioxide within the area.

Residents are being encouraged to give their views on the contents of this important document.

A copy of the draft ‘Air Quality Action Plan’ and details of how residents can have their say can be found below.

The closing date is 31st August 2017.
