Q How do I join?
A Fill in a form at your local library and show a form of identification which includes your name and address.

Q Does it cost anything?
A

No. It's free to join the library, to borrow books, to use any books of information in the library and to ask for advice. Charges are made for some items such as videos and music.

Q What can I borrow?
A

You may take out up to 20 items from your local library, with the following limits:
10 books, 10 books on tape, 5 music items, 5 videos or DVD's.

Q How long can I keep them?
A
Books, Books on tape, Language sets - 3 weeks
Videos, Music and CD ROM's - 1 week

Q Can I keep them longer?
A

Yes! As long as another customer has not requested them, loans may be renewed by visiting the library or by telephoning prior to the date stamped for return. If you do not return or renew books by the date stamped on them you have to pay an overdue charge. For items other than books this will incur additional charges. There are no overdue charges for children and there are concessions available to some customers.

Q Am I able to request a book?
A

Yes. You can request books and other items for a small charge.

Q Can I borrow books in other languages?
A

Yes. There are books in Welsh, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Books in any other languages can be obtained for you.

Q Are children welcome?
A

Children of any age are welcome to join the library. Special areas for children are available in each library.

A

Every library has sources of information on all subjects. A member of staff will be happy to help you find what you're looking for.

Q What services does my local library offer?
A

The follwing services are available at larger libraries:
Books, Family History, CD ROM's, Open learning, Free Internet Access, Large print books, Videos, DVD's, Music, Talking books, Children and Youth Service, PC's for hire, Information, Magazines, Newspapers, Photocopying, Exhibitions and displays, Community Information, Council Information, Mobile Library, Request Service, Housebound Service, Schools Library Service.

For smaller libraries contact your local library regarding services available.
