"Sport Relief Mile" success!

Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Sport Development team led by example when they ran the Sainsbury’s ‘Sport Relief Mile’ raising a massive £1,000 for charity.

This is the first year CCBC’s Sport Development staff have led a team in the charity run, and reached the maximum capacity of 200 volunteers. The race commenced at St Cenydd Leisure Centre the newest leisure facility in the borough. The 20 staff that attended encouraged all participants to reach their goals by running extra miles alongside them.

Volunteer runners some in fancy dress included children, adults and even some families. The day was a fun filled success and everyone encouraged ans supported each other to complete the course. All participants received a goody bag provided by Sainsbury and Sport Development the contents included money off vouchers and a certificate as proof of completion for all sponsors.
