Crime and Punishment

See justice in court as Colonel Prichard conducts trials of miscreants in the Great Hall of the Manor. Associated activities for children in the Education Centre (included in entry fees to the Manor or, for activities only, £3.75 per child).

A wide range of antiques and collectables on sale in the Barn and Education Centre. Admission free.

Easter & All Fools Day

Ancient traditions in the Manor House plus daily Easter bonnet competitions, egg painting, Egg Hunt (Sunday only) and other activities for all the family in the Visitor Centre (included in the entry fee to the Manor or, for activities only, £3.75 per child).

 

May Day Bank Holiday Monday 3rd May

17th century Olympics

FREE family fun day with demonstrations of traditional sports, tug of war, local teams in competition, archery and have a go activities for all.

Gwanwyn Day – Wellbeing

Part of the Gwanwyn Festival celebrating the opportunity of older age for renewal, growth and creativity.

Archeology Day

Free entry to archeological activities for kids of all ages

 

Wednesday 21st July – 11am to 4pm

Activity Day for young children

Organised in conjunction with the Welsh Pre-school Playgroups Association. Cost £3.75 per child (WPPA member £1 per child) adults free. No unaccompanied children or adults.

 

Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th August

Kings Weekend

Hustle, bustle and preparations on Saturday followed by a Royal visit from His Majesty King Charles 1st on Sunday. Pomp, ceremony, the Kings Feast, militia encampment and displays.

 

Wednesdays 11th and 18th August 11am – 4pm.

I’m bored – what can I do?

Is this a problem for you during the school summer holidays? Do you have 5 – 12 year old children? Bring them to Llancaiach for a range of sports, games and craft activities. Cost £3.75 per child, adults free. No unaccompanied children or adults.

Bargoed & District Art Society 50th Anniversary Exhibition

Popular annual exhibition of artistic works in a range of media plus The Withers Cup competition on the theme of Celebration.

Barking Mad Dog Show

Annual show organised in conjunction with Hope Rescue. Fun show classes, dog agility, animal charity stalls, Good Citizen awards for dogs, pet photographer and more. www.hoperescue.org.uk

Rural Skills Show & Harvest Celebrations

Sheep dog demonstration, sheep shearing, hedging, drystone walling, threshing, winnowing, spinning, natural dyes. Harvest Festival service on Sunday.

Witches

Witchcraft and superstition played a large part in 17th century life. To celebrate Hallowe’en we will be holding Witch trials in the Manor House and offering a wide range of associated craft activities for children in the Education Centre. Included in entry fees to Manor or, for craft activities only, £3.75 per child.
