Parish Clerk

Parish Clerk - Nicholas Jones

Nicholas Jones was born in Llandaff in the shadow of the ancient but now sadly dilapidated cathedral.
He was brought up in the household of a member of the Cathedral Chapter, where his father and mother were servants to the ecclesiastical gentleman. He has received some instruction in reading and writing.

Growing up in such an environment and at a time when various bishops have tried to return some pomp and splendour to the church, he is much saddened by the somewhat puritanical bent of the day. Nicholas owes his position in St. Cattwg’s church to his High Church sympathies as the rector of the parish is in need of an ally in this hotbed of non-conformity.
Nicholas is often to be found in Llancaiach Fawr Manor visiting friends, collecting information for the parish register or gathering intelligence for the embattled Rector Covey.
