CCBC’s Catering Team win the LACA Wales Region Innovation Award

The Caerphilly Catering Team have recently won the LACA Wales Region Innovation Award at the LACA Wales Recognition of Excellence Award Ceremony.

The Innovation Award recognises the team’s innovative ideas and product development within education catering over the last four years. These ideas include the early implementation of Universal Primary Free School Meals, Cookery Championship in the community, and QR code vouchers for free school meal holiday payments and school essentials grants etc.

Alongside the Innovation Award, the team were also awarded The Welsh Government Food in Schools Award, which acknowledges the team’s contribution to education in Wales.

Cllr Carol Andrews, Cabinet Member for Education and Communities, commented “Congratulations to the Caerphilly Catering Team on their achievements, this is a well-deserved award that recognises the hard work that goes into the successful delivery of the catering service across the county borough.”
