"Five Star" playground facilities at Morgan Jones Park!

One of Caerphilly county borough’s flagship parks, Morgan Jones Park has been awarded with yet another prestigious honour, having recently received a 5 Star RoSPA award.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents awarded the Park with the “5 Star” award for its play area, which is the highest award available, and to meet the necessary criteria the park must be “an excellent standard play area, with regards to use by disabled persons and play value.”

Caerphilly county borough’s Mayor, Cllr Anne Collins officially unveiled the plaque presented to the park in recognition of achieving the standard at a ceremony recently.

 

Caerphilly County Borough Council’s cabinet member for Education and Leisure, Cllr Phil Bevan said, ''It is extremely pleasing that the play facilities within Morgan Jones Park are recognised with excellent play value and inclusion for disabled people by achieving this 5 star award.”

In addition, Morgan Jones Park, which received over 400,000 visitors last year, was honoured with another prestigious award – the Green Flag award, which is the national standard for quality parks and green spaces. Winners are judged to be welcoming and well maintained with the support and involvement of the local community.
