Nelson Wern Woodland Park Directions

By road from the M4

From the M4, exit at junction 32 onto the A470 signposted Pontypridd and Merthyr Tydfil. After 11 miles take the turn off to Nelson and Ystrad Mynach on the A472. Carry on for two miles. Nelson Village will be on the left hand side. Just as the village ends turn left at the roundabout and immediately right through the Dry stonewall gates.

By road from Cardiff

From Cardiff take the A470, Northern Avenue northwards and follow the instructions as above.

By rail

The closest stations are two miles from the park. To the East is Ystrad Mynach Station then take the C16 Stagecoach bus. To the west is Quakers Yard in Treharris then take the Stagecoach bus No. 78 from Treharris Bus station. Both Busses arrive at Nelson bus station. From here walk 200 metres along Wern Crescent, which starts by the Coop store.

By bus

Bus service from Caerphilly. Caerphilly interchange stand 9 to Nelson.
Bus service from Cardiff: Cardiff bus Station X4 to Pontypridd bus station then take the X38 to Bargoed getting off at Nelson Bus station.
Bus service from Merthyr Tydfil. Merthyr Tydfil bus station No.78 to Pontypridd getting off at Nelson bus station.
From Nelson bus station follow directions above.
