As a highway authority, we have a duty to manage the road network to ensure, as far as possible, the safe and convenient movement of traffic, which includes pedestrians and other vulnerable road users.
Traffic management involves the use of a range of measures to help keep traffic moving safely. These measures are provided in accordance with our policy. They include:

- traffic signals and signs
- road markings
- traffic calming
