 | Blackwood Miners InstituteBMI presents a variety of arts and entertainment events including well-known household names from the world of music and light entertainment.
Aston's Stones, Monday 27 May, 11am and 1.30pm - Aston's Stones is an exquisite and heart-warming story about the little dog who wants to take care of all the stones he can find. This adorable story is about how easy it is to love and the ability to see and appreciate the value in the smallest things – even a little stone.

In the Footsteps of the Romans: Parc Cwm Darran - Saturday 25th May, 11am - 3pm. A Roman themes event to celebrate the launch of the new amphitheatre with many differnent creative workshops including willow weaving, storytelling and Roman themed parade to the new amphitheatre. Butterfly Fun Day: Aberbargoed Education Centre, Thursday 30 May, 11am - 3pm. Come along to this fun packed celebration of our amazing butterflies. As well as a chance to seek out these rare beauties, there are arts, activities, trails and games. For details call 01443 834317.

 | Cwmcarn ForestCwmcarn Forest offers something for all the family. The visitor centre provides a place to stock up on refreshments and gifts as well as finding out about what you can do in the area.
Bug Box Workshop, Tuesday 28 May, 11am - 3.15pm (3 sessions available). Continuing on our wildlife theme we will be building our own bug hotels using wood and twigs/bamboo to encourage wildlife to our gardens! The workshop will involve using hammer and nails and sanding down wood. Once you have completed your hotel, you can hang them in your garden and watch out for all the creepy crawlies!. £5 per child - Ages 6 plus and booking is essential. Make a Mini Nature Reserve!, Wednesday 29 May, 1am - 3.15pm (3 hourly sessions available). Come along and create your very own mini nature reserve! These little wildlife havens are simple and fun to create and you get the joys of watching them develop over time! Suitable for ages 6 plus, we will be getting hands on with compost, twigs and stones to create a mini Cwmcarn! £5 per child - Ages 6 plus and booking is essential.  | Llancaiach Fawr ManorBuilt in the early sixteenth century, Llancaiach Fawr Manor is one of the finest examples of a semi-fortified manor house in Wales today. The Manor is open to the public and visitors are invited to step back in time and sample the sights, sounds and smells of 1645.
Caerphilly Motoring Festival, Sunday 26 May. Vintage and classic vehicles at the Manor and our version of the London to Brighton run! A wide range of historic and classic vehicles, including military vehicles will be on show on the meadow and on the main field- the 'Touring assembly' will start from Llancaiach Fawr Manor and follow a route through the county borough.  | The Winding HouseThe Winding house offers a wide and varied events programme including walks, talks, family fun days, crafts and story telling. Our events range from seminars for special interest subjects to fun days out that all the family will enjoy. All our events are FREE but booking is always advised to avoid disappointment.
