New retail developments

Blackwood Northern Retail Development

Detailed Town Centre Action Plans have been drawn up for Bargoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly, Newbridge, Risca and Ystrad Mynach. These plans are part of a wider strategy to revitalise the town centres and re-establish them as foci of economic activity – acting as a driving force for the regeneration programme.

The three principle towns in the county borough, Bargoed, Blackwood and Caerphilly benefit from a Town Centre Development Manager who co-ordinates the public and private sector activities at strategic and operational level.

A number of the major towns are in the process of undertaking radical changes, which will transform their existing shopping offers. These new developments will compliment the existing retail provision and provide genuine opportunities for long-term investment. This will be through improving the retail, tourism and hospitality offer, increasing the office accommodation and providing mixed-use schemes to increase town centre living. This approach will invigorate the towns both socially and economically and place town centres at the heart of the community.

A property availability is available free of charge at the Caerphilly Business Portal and includes details of all premises available in the towns of Bargoed, Blackwood and Caerphilly – in both private and public ownership.
