Citizen engagement has become increasingly important in ensuring that the services we deliver to the community reflect their needs. By engagement, we mean anything we do that informs citizens about what we do or involves them in our decision-making process.
The council's new Citizen Engagement Strategy was formally adopted by members in April 2013 and has been designed to ensure that all engagement activity is co-ordinated in a consistent, meaningful and transparent way. The new strategy promotes best practice and endorses the National Principles for Public Engagement in Wales.
