Thinking of setting up your own support group?

Caerphilly Carers Support Service have produced a practical guidance document for those thinking about setting up a carers support group. The document aims to provide you with the help and support needed to enable you to successfully set up and run your own support group, including how to get started, the purpose of your group, finance and funding and even discussion ideas.

To be held one Monday afternoon 2-4pm and one Wednesday evening 7-9pm per month at Blackwood Methodist Church.

Carers Support and Friendship Groups

Caring for a friend or loved one can often make you feel isolated and alone.

Would you like to meet other carers to socialise, share your experiences or just to meet new people in similar situations to yourself?

Why not come along and join one of our monthly Carers Support and Friendship Group. We meet at:

  • Caerphilly Visitors Centre, The Twyn, Caerphilly on the last Wednesday of the month, from 2pm - 3.30pm.
  • Bargoed Library, Hanbury Chapel, Hanbury Road, Bargoed on he last Thursday of the month, from 1.30pm - 3pm

Rhymney Valley Autistic Society

Aims: A small support group of parents of children who have autism. The group has a library of books on autism and asperger's syndrome which parents can borrow. The group also discusses issues affecting our children with the relevant authorities.

South Wales (Cardiff) Inherited Heart Conditions Support Group

Support group for people with cardiomyopathy and other inherited heart diseases.
Meetings are held periodically on Thursdays, 7pm, at the Old Church Rooms, Park Road, Radyr, Cardiff, CF15 8DF.

Cancer Careline - Tuesday Friends

The group meeting every Tuesday afternoon in the Cancercareline House, 15 Woodbine Road, Blackwood, NP12 1QF, 1.30pm - 3.30pm. All are welcome and you can pop in any time. Also throughout the year, Tuesday Friends regularly organises day trips and short break weekends at Christmas and Easter. Anyone is welcome to join the trips.
