Workings Skills for Adults aims to increase the ownership of generic, transferable skills across the workforce through both community and workplace based provision, thereby improving the opportunities for currently low skilled workers to sustain employment and increase their earning potential.

The Working Skills for Adults project provides access a wide variety of FREE courses and the opportunity of advice and guidance from a team of learning advisors.

Where is it available?

The project is available through Caerphilly County Borough Council, Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council, Bridgend College, Bridgend County Borough Council, Merthyr Tydfil College, Ystrad Mynach College and Torfaen County Borough Council.

Who is it for?

It is available to all residents of the Bridges into Work region who are:

  • Working 16 hours or more
  • 16 years of age or older
  • Not in full time education

What can it offer?

  • A range of training, including basic skills – literacy and numeracy, Customer Service, IT courses, formal qualifications such as City and Guilds, ITQ (CLAIT) and Agored Cymru.
  • A support programme to assist participants and ensure their success and achievement of qualifications.
  • Assistance in the progression of participants to further learning through FE, HE and Continuous Professional Development routes.
