The award winning Caerphilly Music Service employs over 30 specialist staff to support the music curriculum in schools by providing a broad range of quality instrumental and vocal tuition for students together with curriculum advice and support for teachers. Youth ensemble experience is offered at school, county, four counties and national level.
The Music Education Partnership Scheme with the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama enables the county's more able and talented musicians to access professional tuition. A full programme of events is arranged and includes the Caerphilly County Borough Schools' Young Musician of the Year and Contemporary Young Musician of the Year competitions, a St David's Hall Showcase and many other live music making activities in the community.
