If you are facing eviction, repossession or homelessness, don't ignore the situation. The first step should be to contact your mortgage lender or landlord directly.
Housing advice

Mortgage Rescue Scheme

Housing benefits
If you're on a low income you may be entitled to housing benefit. Housing benefit is a payment made by the council to people finding it hard to pay their rent, either to a Housing Association or to a private landlord. Other organisations that offer support
- Shelter Cymru - provides advice, assistance and advocacy on all housing problems varying from rent arrears, mortgage arrears, landlord and tenant problems, disrepair issues and housing benefit. Call 0845 075 5005.
- Citizens Advice Bureau – provide advice on managing rent or mortgage payments, increasing your income, and other ways to avoid losing your home.
- DirectGov - website holds information on how to keep your home including advice on mortgage and rent difficulties, remortgaging and becoming homeless.
- Mortgage Help – provides advice for people having difficulties paying their mortgage.
