Changes in your circumstances
If you are already claiming housing benefit and/or council tax reduction and there is any change in your circumstances it is important that you tell us about those changes straight away. Failure to report these changes to us could mean that either we are paying you too much benefit, or that we are not paying you enough.
The decision to award you benefits is based on your circumstances at the time the claim is made.

Claims for free school meals
If you are in receipt of housing benefit, you may also be entitled to claim free school meals for any children you are responsible for. This could save you as much as £400 per year per child.
