Flying Start - frequently asked questions

I would like my child to go to the childcare, but how do I know if I can get a place? You can check your postcode in the postcode list to see if you live in a Flying Start area. Then you can phone the office for a confirmation letter and take this to the setting with your paperwork proving your address and child's birth certificate, to book your place. Your Childcare Leader will then be able to book you a place and give you the details and a start date.

I would like to do a parenting course. I am not a bad parent but think it might help, as my child grows older. How do I know if I can access a course and which would be best for me? We do not believe any parents are bad parents, but the different courses help to look at things in a different light, learn new skills and meet others who have the same feelings and thoughts as you. The best way to know which course would suit you best, dates and who will be delivering it, is to phone or contact Sal, Parenting Officer, who can have a chat and point you in the right direction. Which partners are currently involved in the programme delivery? There are many partners involved with Flying Start families and we are always looking to build more partnerships. I am not living in a current Flying Start area. Will the Flying Start programme be delivered in other areas? This would depend on having lots more additional funding but there are lots of services in Caerphilly county borough and if you phone Family Information Service they will be able to tell you what is available near you.
