Bringing up children is exciting and enjoyable, but it can also be demanding. From time to time parents, children and young people may need additional support from extened family, friends, their local community or professional support services. The Caerphilly Family Information Service can provide you with details of support services in your area.
Social Services and Family Support
Some families have significant needs that require more intense support. We provide and commission a range of services for the families of children and young people who have been assessed as being 'in need'. Our Family Support Services work with parents and carers to help them build upon their strengths and skills, understand their children's needs and promote positive outcomes for the family. We also help children and parents to identify other avenues of support, such as family members, friends and local services within the community.
Accessing the Family Support Service
When a social worker has undertaken an assessment of need, they will work with the family to plan what support and services are required. The social worker will then make any necessary referral to the Family Support Service.
