Children and Young People's Partnerships (CYP Partnerships) were established across Wales in response to the statutory requirement for closer co-operation and partnership working between local authorities and other organisations including the voluntary and other statutory sectors.
The shared vision of the Caerphilly CYP Partnership is that:
"Children, young people and their families are given every opportunity to experience Caerphilly county borough as a safe and healthy place to live, play, learn and be creative".
Caerphilly County Borough Council defines the Children and Young People's Partnership as "All the organisations involved in the delivery of services to children and young people in the borough with a commitment to improving and ensuring quality services for children and young people."
Membership of the CYP Partnership Board consists of representatives of organisations who provide services for children and young people in Caerphilly county borough. The current membership includes:
- Aneurin Bevan Health Board
- Community Regeneration CCBC
- Community Safety Partnership
- Education, Lifelong Learning & Leisure CCBC
- Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO)
- Gwent Police
- Local members
- Parent Network
- Policy & Equalities CCBC
- Public Health Wales
- Schools
- Social Services CCBC
- Voluntary Sector organisations working with children, young people and parents
- Youth Offending Service
- Other organisations as appropriate
The Board has a strategic role to ensure the Children and Young People's Plan is delivered and that quality services are provided and maintained. There are 3 Prioirty Outcome Groups, based upon the 3 Prioirty Outcomes outlined in our Plan and these operate as sub groups of the Board. These Priority Outcome Groups are:
- Families are supported and children and young people are safe
- All children and young people have improved work related skills
- Children, young people and their families are as healthy as possible

- All children and young people are not disadvantaged by poverty
All of our Priority Outcomes are under pinned by the Priority Outcome that:
- All children and young people are listened to and are treated with respect
These groups drive the local action plans which deliver the priorities of the Children and Young People's Plan.
The development of a Single Integrated Plan is currently being undertaken in the borough, and the Board are fully committed to contributing to this development.
The CYP Plan places families at the centre of all planning and delivery and identified a Family Support Strategy as a priority for development in 2011.
