Whether you are looking for a place where your child can learn how to swim, make new friends, take a class or host a birthday party, you will find what you need, and more, at the county borough's leisure centres.
The following activities are available:
- Swimming pools
There are six swimming pools in the county borough where kids can swim for free during school holidays. You can also take advantage of our new initiative called Free Swim Friday which offers free swimming sessions on Fridays at certain times of the day, all year round.
- Classes
A wide range of classes are available from ballet, trampolining, football, street dances, gymnastics and much, much more!! Classes aim to develop children's abilities through a varied programme of activities and sport.
- Children's birthday parties
Sit back, relax and let us take the strain out of organising your child's birthday party. We offer a range of activities for all ages, including, netball, swimming, football, dance, gymnastics, rugby, basketball and trampolining. For an additional fee, some sites are also able to offer further activities and entertainment such as soft play, go-kart parties, face painters and a bouncy castle.
- Kids Plus Membership
Children aged 15 and under can come on down to your local leisure centre to receive a free gym induction. Our leisure centres offer a monthly membership, Kids Plus which caters for children and young people, aged 15 and under. Kids Plus entitles children or young people to enjoy unlimited swim, gym and junior classes at the centre of their choice.
- Playschemes
During the Easter and summer holidays and half-terms selected leisure centres offer a fun-filled playscheme programme for all ages.
