| The Examination in respect of the 'Caerphilly County Borough Local Development Plan' (LDP) is now formally closed.The Inspector's Report entitled 'Report on the Examination into the Caerphilly County Borough Local Development Plan Up to 2021' has been submitted to the Council and is now available to view. The Inspector has concluded that with the recommended changes outlined in his report, the LDP satisfies the requirements of section 64(5) of the 2004 Act and meets the tests of soundness in LDP Wales.

Inspector Appointed
Planning Inspector Mr Alwyn B Nixon BSc MRTPI has been appointed to conduct the Examination to determine whether the LDP is sound. His role is to consider all the evidence and to produce a report for the council giving his recommendations for action. His report will be binding on the council.
The Programme Officer
The examination process has been administered by the Programme Officer, Barbara Prosser, who was independent of the council and has worked directly with the Inspector.

Caerphilly County Borough Council submitted the Caerphilly Local Development Plan (LDP) to the Welsh Assembly Government on 7 October 2009.
An Exploratory Meeting was held on 8 December 2009 (details available in ED.12).
The Pre-Hearing Meeting was held on 4 March 2010 (details available in ED.33)
