You can download eBooks to your PC for free from Caerphilly Library Service.
If you are a member of one of our libraries you can borrow eBooks from the comfort of your own home 24/7 using our new online service, eBooks for Wales.
There are lots of books to choose from, from current best sellers to self help books, classic fiction to gardening books. There are also eBooks for children.
What is an eBook?
An eBook is an electronic book. With an eBook the text is available as an electronic version of a traditional print book which can be read by using an eReader, personal computer or smartphone.
How does the eBook service work?
You need to be a member of one of our libraries and hold a valid library card and PIN.
To borrow or reserve your eBooks you will need to visit the eBooks Wales website.
If the eBook you want is already on loan you may reserve it. You'll be notified by email when it becomes available to download.
eBooks can be downloaded on to your PC or laptop, then transferred to your smart phone, tablet PC or selected eReaders. You can borrow up to four eBooks at a time, for up to three weeks. After this period they will disappear from your device.
For more information about this service, please see our eBooks FAQs.
The service will not work on all platforms or devices including Kindles. Devices must support the DRM (Digital Rights Management) protocol as a minimum, and also enable free software downloads which manage the eBooks service.
What if I am not a member of the library or don't know my PIN number?
If you are not a member of one of our libraries, why not join today.
If you are already a member and you don't know your PIN number, contact your local library or email us at libraries@caerphilly.gov.uk.
