Rate of pay
We offer a competitive rate of pay as follows: -
- Social Worker, Grade 9 £27,849 - £30,851 (£14.43 - £15.99 per hour)
- Senior Practitioner, Grade 10 £30,851 - £34,549 (£15.99 - £17.91 per hour)
Employees are offered the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
Annual leave entitlement
All full time Caerphilly employees will be entitled to 24 days annual leave per year plus an additional 9 public holidays. After 5 continuous years service annual leave increases to 28 days.
The standard working week is 37 hours per week. Caerphilly operates a generous flexitime policy, which allows staff to balance their work and home life.

Salary sacrifice car scheme
This scheme allows employees to lease a low emission car at a reduced rate, as the money is taken directly from gross pay this proportion of income is exempt from tax and national insurance contributions.
Cycle to work scheme
This scheme is similar to that above, it allows employees to lease a bike for a set period (up to 18 months) after which the employee has the option to purchase the bike. The money is taken directly from gross pay this proportion of income is exempt from tax and national insurance contributions.
This scheme allows employees to purchase childcare vouchers directly from their salary, up to a maximum of £50 per week, this proportion of income is exempt from tax and national insurance contributions
Employees can use council bikes during the lunch time period, free of charge, the bikes come equipped with safety equipment and locks. Employees can join the staff mountain bike club who meet weekly alternatively there are a number of routes available for download.Back
