Council Pest Control Officers will deal with pests that are harmful to public health and well being at homes and businesses.
As well as investigating reports of pests in the borough, we also operate a pro-active baiting programme aimed at targeting known or potential problem areas.
Cost of treatment
We charge the following for pest control services to domestic premises:
- Wasps (or bees) £35 (plus VAT) per treatment
- Fleas £35 (plus VAT) per treatment
- Mice £50 (plus VAT) per treatment
No charge is made for rats, cockroaches or bedbugs and a concession of 50% reduction is made to those on income support or guaranteed pension credit.
We will treat commercial premises at a minimum cost of £40 per hour plus materials.

Requesting removal of a pest
To request the removal of a pest, please call Environmental Health on 01443 866544. Please be aware when calling to request a pest control treatment, that for any chargeable treatments, payment will be required at point of booking.
Where applicable, we will offer you the necessary advice and support that will enable you to deal with the pest yourself. For example, when dealing with ants.
When required officers will call by prior appointment and apply safe and effective treatments. If for any reason the problem persists they will return and make every effort to ensure the pest is eradicated.
Information and advice
Although we do not offer treatment for all pests, we do offer free advice to citizens of the Caerphilly County Borough for controlling common pests including, Mice, Fleas, Flies, Beetles and Psocids.
