Caerphilly Council has introduced a new scheme that could help you to swap your council home for another tenanted home. This is often called a mutual exchange.
HomeSwapper.co.uk is the UK's leading mutual exchange community, and is now FREE for Caerphilly council tenants to register and use.
HomeSwapper enables you to find possible mutual exchanges, searching for potential matches with thousands of other tenants within the county borough and from all over the country who may want to exchange their home with you.
How does HomeSwapper work?
HomeSwapper is easy to use. There are just a few basic steps:
1. Register on the HomeSwapper website.
2. HomeSwapper then look for potential swaps.
3. If a potential swap is found, you will be sent an email or text alert. (You will need to provide a mobile telephone number and/or email address when you register).
4. Once Homeswapper has found you a potential home that you would like to mutually exchange, you then need to complete our mutual exchange form (PDF 42kb) and submit it to your local housing office where your application will be processed.
Do you need access to the Internet to register?
Anyone who does not have Internet access can contact his or her local housing office where an officer will be happy to register on his or her behalf. However, a mobile phone number will need to be provided in order to receive matches via text messages.
