There is a lot of support available if you've lost your job or are facing redundancy.
Finding a job
Caerphilly County Borough Council is one of the borough's biggest employers. If you are currently looking for work, check out current vacancies on our own jobs page: Jobs at the council.
Further help with finding employment is available on our Finding a job webpage.
Dealing with redundancy
During this economic slowdown, many employers need to reduce their workforce to cut costs, and some businesses may close down. There are procedures they must follow before dismissing you. If you lose your job, there's a lot of information and support to help you back to work. DirectGov offer advice on your rights if your job is at risk, and support to help you back to work. Visit the DirectGov website for details.
If you've been made redundant or are facing redundancy you should contact Jobcentre Plus to make an application for Job seekers Allowance, whilst you look for employment. Job Centre Plus offer a number of schemes that support job seekers.
Education and training
If you think more education or training might help you get your ideal job, why not see what courses are available at our local colleges, Coleg Gwent and Ystrad Mynach College. Our adult and community education programme also offer a wide range of courses that will further your knowledge and skills and help you return to work.
