Public Protection Enforcement Policy

Our Public Protection Division carries out of a wide range of protective and regulatory functions, which seek to protect, promote and improve the health, safety and economic well being of our communities and our employees, as well as regulate trade, commerce and the environment. They also enforce numerous statutes, many of which include criminal sanctions on those who infringe the law.

To ensure a fair and consistent approach to our enforcement responsibilities we have produced an Enforcement Policy, which is available to download below:

The policy was subject to consultation during its production and we welcome feedback, particularly responses from those persons affected by the policy.

It is available in Welsh on request and may be provided in other languages or formats if required.

The policy was endorsed by Cabinet on 10 January 2012 and implemented from 1 February 2012.
