The Bisnet Team at Caerphilly County Borough Council have been working in partnership with the local authorities and Google, to enable businesses across the South East Wales Valleys area to have free help and advice to get their businesses online.
The first Google Juice Bar was held in the South East Wales Valleys area at Tredomen Business & Technology Centre in Caerphilly county borough and further Google Juice Bars will be held across the valleys in Blaenau Gwent, Merthyr, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Torfaen.
These free Google Juice Bars are a part of the Getting Welsh Business Online campaign. Wales is now playing host to a variety of Google events aimed at helping the region's businesses get online. In a report commissioned by Google and produced by the Boston Consulting Group, it was found that small businesses actively using the Internet had sales growth more than four times greater than less active companies, demonstrating a huge opportunity for economic growth if more businesses develop their online presence.
The Google Juice Bar is an opportunity for small businesses to have a one-to-onesession with a Google advisor. These teams of Google advisors are local businesses that will share their expertise for free. Sessions last 40 minutes and are an active, informal and friendly way for businesses to ask questions about getting or growing their business online.
