Welcome to Caerphilly Adoption Services
Adoption is a way of providing new permanent families for children who are unable, for whatever reason, to be brought up by their birth parents or extended family.
The Adoption Service also offers services to anyone who has been affected by adoption. You could be:
- thinking about adopting a child
- someone who has been adopted
- someone who has adopted a child; or
- considering placing a child for adoption
Whichever of the above relates to you, we hope the information in these adoption pages will help you make the right choices for you.
Councils and agencies join forces to launch adoption campaign
A new campaign aimed at recruiting more adopters across the South Wales region has been launched.
The 'Adopt Wales Cymru' campaign has been created following a rise in the number of children and young people needing forever families.
Former Olympic medallist, Jamie Baulch and TV presenter, Anna Ryder Richardson fronted the campaign, alongside current adoptive families, and a young man who was adopted as a baby.
The Adopt Wales Cymru campaign aims to raise awareness of the need for adopters and ultimately increase the opportunities to match children waiting for adoption with potential adoptive parents and families. The 'Adopt Wales Cymru' partnership consists of 12 local authorities and two voluntary adoption agencies.
