Central heating servicing
Every year about 50 people die from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by heating appliances and flues, which have not been properly maintained. Many others also suffer ill health. When gas does not burn properly, as with other fuels such as coal, wood or oil, excess carbon monoxide is produced, which is poisonous.
A regular service of your heating and hot water system is a statutory requirement under health and safety legislation. Not only does this ensure that the system is safe but also that it is and functioning both as effectively and economically as possible.
- Gas central heating - If you have a gas central heating system we will arrange for our heating contractor to inspect and service your system once a year.
If you have not had your system serviced in the last year please contact our Building Consultancy department on 01495 235530.
- Solid fuel central heating - If you have a solid fuel heating or hot water system (for example, a coal fire) we will arrange for our heating contractor to inspect and service your system twice a year.
If you have not had your system serviced in the last 6 months please contact our Building Consultancy department on 01495 235530.
Following a service, you should receive a copy of the safety certificate from the heating contractor.
Accessing your home
It is vitally important that you co-operate with our heating contractor by providing them with access to your property when they need it in order to carry out these safety checks.
If you miss an appointment please contact our Building Consultancy department on 01495 235530 to arrange another appointment.
Failure to allow us access to carry out a service is a breach of your tenancy agreement and could result in you being evicted from your property.
