Budding Business Grant

The Budding Businesses Grant can fund capital and revenue projects for developing new ideas and products in the areas of local food, timber, craft and rural skills, new creative industries, marketing, promotion and fostering a 'buy local' attitude.

This financial assistance is specifically aimed at micro-businesses in the rural wards. The rural wards that have qualified for support, as designated by the Welsh Government, are: Aber Valley, Argoed, Bedwas, Machen and Trethomas, Crumlin, Darran Valley, Llanbradach, Maesycwmmer, Moriah (Rhymney), Nelson, New Tredegar, St Cattwg, St James, Twyn Carno, Ynysddu. Applications will also be considered from the wards of Pontlottyn, Aberbargoed, Newbridge, Abercarn, Penyrheol and Ystrad Mynach.

The maximum grant available is £30,000.

Grant applications are considered regularly by the Caerffili-Cwm a Mynydd Partnership. The programme will run until September 2013.

These grants are part funded through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and funding is also provided by the Welsh Government.
