Elections - Alternative Vote Referendum

The UK Government held a referendum on voting reform on 5 May 2011.

The referendum asked if the alternative vote (AV) system should be introduced for Westminster elections. If people voted for a new system, it would be used to elect Members of Parliament to the House of Commons at the next UK General Election.
