Street parties

Celebrations of 60 years of the Queen's reign will take place between the 2 June 2012 - 5 June 2012.

If you are planning a street party you will need to apply to the council. The following application pack contains the application forms you will need together with guidance on a number of issues including road closures, emergency plans, signage, health and safety and much more.

It is important to plan early, especially if you anticipate that there may be issues around licensing, closing the road, insurance, food safety etc. While there is much to consider when planning an event for the public, the council's Event Safety Advisory Group (ESAG) may be able to support you in helping ensure your event is a safe and successful one.

Applications for street parties must be received at least 28 days prior to the event.

Licensing information

The government has passed regulations giving a blanket extension to all premises that are currently licensed for the sale or supply of alcohol for consumption on the premises on 1st and 2nd June 2012. ' i.e. pubs, members clubs and restaurants. If you are organising an event that includes the sale or supply of alcohol, music, dancing or late night refreshment etc., you may require a licence.
