Caerphilly has recently adopted 1App in August 2008. 1App is the Standard Planning Application Form introduced by Communities and Local Government and the Welsh Government to replace all existing types of planning application forms (except minerals) within England and Wales.
From 1 October 2008, anyone making a planning application to Caerphilly CBC will have to use a 1APP form. Applications submitted on existing/old style forms after 1st October will not be accepted although there will be a transition for forms already in process under the existing system.
How to access and use 1App
The 1App is an electronic application form hosted by the Planning Portal. Once logged onto the website, the applicant or agent is asked a series of questions to help determine which application form to complete. A detailed form specific to the proposal is generated once this procedure is completed.
The Standard Planning Application Form covers a range of application types including Householder, Planning Permission, Listed Building consent, Conservation Area consent, Tree Applications (including Tree Preservation Orders and Trees in Conservation Areas) and Advertisement consent. Along with the electronic planning application form, supporting plans and documents can also be submitted electronically as part of the online application process.
1App forms are available online at www.planningportal.gov.uk. They can be completed and submitted online together with the necessary documentation and the correct fee. Alternatively, paper versions, which are also available via the Planning Portal, can be downloaded below or obtained from the council's offices at Pontllanfraith.
